The German airline “Lufthansa” announced today that an agreement has been reached with the union on a salary increase for 25,000 workers after weeks of wage disputes and strikes.

“An agreement has been reached and I am very happy about it, because the employees are getting a significant salary increase,” said Lufthansa HR Director Mihael Nigeman.

The union demanded a salary increase of 12.5 percent for about 25,000 employees, with an inflation allowance of 3,000 euros.

“Lufthansa” offered a salary increase of about 10 percent in addition to the inflation allowance.

One of the negotiators from the union said that they are very satisfied with the result of the arbitration process and that they will discuss further details tomorrow with representatives of “Lufthansa” with the aim of signing the agreement, Srna news agency writes.
