Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that Russia will deploy 10 Orešnik ballistic missile systems in his country, and that this number may increase in the future.
Lukashenko was answering questions from reporters after a meeting of the Supreme Council of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in the Leningrad Region, and one of the questions was how many Orešnik ballistic missile systems Russia will deploy in Belarus.
“I think ten for now. We will see later. If the Russians want to deploy more, we will deploy more,” Lukashenko said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that they have deployed Russian tactical nuclear weapons on Belarusian territory, and that in the second half of next year they will deploy the Orešnik ballistic missile, equipped with non-nuclear hypersonic equipment, tested in wartime conditions in Ukraine, in Belarus.
