A major Italian supermarket chain announced that it has decided to pull Israeli products from its shelves as a sign of solidarity with the besieged Gaza Strip.

“Our position on what is happening in the Middle East was already clear,” stated Coop Alleanza 3.0, recalling that they had already called for an urgent ceasefire in Gaza and condemned Israel’s blockade of this Palestinian enclave, which prevents the delivery of essential humanitarian aid.

Pointing to the further escalation of Israeli attacks in recent weeks, the chain said: “We cannot remain indifferent to what is happening in Gaza.”

Accordingly, they decided to remove from the shelves products of Israeli origin, including peanuts and tahini products, as well as items from the SodaStream brand.

They also announced that they will begin selling Gaza Cola, which they say is a completely Palestinian product, and the proceeds from sales will be directed towards the reconstruction of a hospital in besieged Gaza.
