Tourists from BiH are among the TOP 5 most frequent guests in the last five years according to the number of visits to Belgrade, as noted at yesterday’s presentation Go Belgrade and the promotion of tourist offer of Belgrade in Sarajevo.

Vesna Nadj, the PR of Tourism Organization, during the presentation of the tourist offer of Belgrade, stated that more than 37,000 tourists from BiH visited Belgrade in the first seven months of this year, and in comparison to the same period last year, it represents an increase of about 7 %, while the number of overnight stays was also increased by about 6 %.

On this occasion, the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to BiH, Stanimir Vukicevic, said that the number of tourists from Sarajevo that are visiting Belgrade, as well as tourists from Belgrade that are visiting Sarajevo, are on the increase, and this growth is ranging between 7 % and 10 % this year.

Otherwise, one of the reasons for the great number of visits of tourists from BiH is the vicinity of the destination and easy access, especially thanks to the direct airline of Air Serbia Sarajevo – Belgrade.

“In the year of 2016, more than 18,000 passengers were transported on this line,” said Emir Dervisevic, sales manager of Air Serbia in BiH, adding that he will continue working on the improvement of traffic between Sarajevo and Belgrade. He also announced the introduction of evening flight on this line.

Director of the Tourist Board of Sarajevo, Nermin Muzur, said that it is normal that Belgrade relies on Sarajevo and Sarajevo on Belgrade in every sense, since tourism is the sector without borders and that similar presentation of Sarajevo will be held in Belgrade soon.
