Marieluise Beck: Citizens All Across B&H Say “Enough is Enough”

news-2014-February-Marieluise_Beck_aa3_891147681Berlin – There is disappointment and worry all over B&H. It’s strange, all across the country you can meet people who say “enough is enough” – stated in the interview for Radio Deutsche Welle the delegate at the German Bundestag and the chairman of the Parliamentary friendship group between Germany and B&H, Marieluise Beck who recently visited B&H.

“There are nationalist and ethnic parties which are controlling the country. When it comes to recent elections, than the Serb’s representative comes as a surprise because he isn’t Dodik’s representative. The question appears what will the new government look like? The whole ethnic definition will still rule the country and if new forces, ready to make necessary steps on a way towards the EU don’t appear, this country will continue to stagnate both in social and economic plan while its citizens will continue to leave.” – considers Beck.

According to her words, the political authorities are still not sending any serious signals demonstrating their readiness to establish reforms which will allow this country to go in the direction of membership status.

“I hope this will have a deciding role while forming the new government. I have met with mister Komšić who told me that whether SDA and HDZ are ready to follow reform steps suggested by and expected from the EU is in fact a litmus test question. “ – said, among other things, the member of the German Parliament, Marieluise Beck.
