The mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karić, hosted the mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri on Wednesday in BiH’s capital. They held a joint meeting where the main topic was strengthening cooperation between these cities.
Benjamina Karić said that this visit can rightly be considered historic.
“This is the first visit of the mayor of Rome to our Sarajevo in history. We are extremely proud that Sarajevo and Rome signed an agreement on cooperation last year, and already today the mayor of Rome is coming to our city, we are discussing different ways to cooperate and we already have great ideas,” she said.
The mayor of Sarajevo said that the city of Sarajevo and the city of Rome will work intensively together to open new opportunities for a direct flight between Sarajevo and Rome.
“The city of Rome has been chosen as a UNESCO city of film. It is another common, very positive link between our two cities, so we will also cooperate in the field of the film industry. SFF is a festival that we are particularly proud of and it will be our pleasure to cooperate in this area as well “, she ordered.
She said that she spoke with Gualtieri about cooperation in the field of culture and sports and said that they had agreed on the organization of Sarajevo Day in Rome.
The mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, thanked Karić for the warm reception and said that he was satisfied with the cooperation between Rome and Sarajevo.
“I look forward to cooperation in the field of film as well. Rome is also the city of film and we can’t wait to strengthen our relations when it comes to that sphere as well,” he said.
