MegaCell building a Factory worth 12.5 Million EUR

MegaCell Factory ekapija.baBy signing the contract on the entrance of the Italian company MegaCell and the purchase of land in the business zone “Lipova Greda”, the intention of this Italian investor to build a factory for the production of silicon ingots and wafers in which 12.5 million EUR will be invested during the first stage was made official.

“We intend to start producing the silicon ingots and wafers, which are raw materials for our factory in Italy, in 2017 here and this is only the first step for the entire industrial chain we plan to build here in Kozarska Dubica,” said the President of Mega Group from Italy Franco Traverso.

Traverso stated that it was planned to employ 90 workers in the first stage of the investment in Kozarska Dubica, who will have to be trained for working in high industry

“This is first step in the construction of a clean industry with a bright future in the production of solar pannels, and we own innovative and advanced technology which we are bringing to Kozarska Dubica, we are creating new workplaces and conditions for further development,” Traverso explained.

The planned volume of production is 120 megawatts of silicon ingots and wafers annualy. According to the owner, it places the future plant in Kozarska DUbica among the largest in Europe.

Manager of the company “MegaCell” Kozarska Dubica Dražen Vidović reminded that Kozarska Dubica started successfully receiving foreign investors during past decade, primarily from Italy, and that the Italian company is also the first foreign investor in the business zone “Lipova Greda”.

Vidović specified that the complete investment in all its stages is worth 35 million EUR, while the investment in the first stage which is to be implemented during 2016 amounts to around 12.5 million EUR.
