Denis Bećirović, a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, sent a letter to the President of the Republic of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, and thanked him for the congratulations on the occasion of assuming the duties of a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He also emphasized the developed bilateral relations between Italy and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as improving economic, cultural, political and other forms of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

“We see your country as a reliable neighbor and appreciate the continued support of the Republic of Italy on our Euro-Atlantic path. The accelerated path of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the European Union is one of the most important foreign policy priorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the expected reforms and improvement of the situation in the country are some of the important tasks of the new government. I pay the greatest attention to that. That’s why we would greatly appreciate the increased engagement of friendly Italy and you personally so that my country gets the status of a candidate for membership in the European Union at the upcoming EU summit in Brussels,” said Bećirović, announced the BiH Presidency.

He also emphasized in a letter to the Italian president that advocating for political stability, unity and peace in the country are the goals of all political forces and citizens who have put their trust in Bećirović, and he intends to realize this as a member of the BiH Presidency.
