A member of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Rade Simic, was killed yesterday while hiking on Mount Prenj. With the help of a helicopter of the Armed Forces of BiH, his body was evacuated today from the scene of the accident near the top of Cetina on Prenj in Jablanica.

“In the accident that happened yesterday morning with the launch of an avalanche below the top of Cetina, the alpinist R. S. was killed and his colleague was slightly injured. Immediately after the report, mountain rescue teams with over 50 rescuers went to the scene of the accident. In extremely difficult weather conditions with a strong storm and temperatures below -20 degrees, members of the mountain rescue services prepared the body for evacuation and transported it to a place suitable for evacuation by helicopter. On this occasion, we emphasize the exceptional expertise and commitment of the helicopter crew of the Armed Forces of BiH, “said the GSS in BiH.

Rade Simic had the rank of lieutenant and served in the 5th Battalion of Logistics Support of the Logistics Command of the Armed Forces of BiH.
