Members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić and Šefik Džaferović talked today in Podgorica, during an official visit to Montenegro, with Montenegrin Parliament Speaker Aleksa Bečić, and expressed the need to respect the judgments of international courts on the Srebrenica genocide.

The position of all interlocutors is that the attitude towards the past must reflect the respect for the judgments of international courts, including the judgments of the International Court of Justice and the Hague Tribunal, which established that genocide was committed in Srebrenica.

The interlocutors agreed that the interest of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro is in strengthening the civic system and achieving membership in the European Union, and that European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

The importance of regional cooperation was also emphasized, together with the multiethnic character of countries in the region, such as Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro as comparative advantage and not a reason for divisions and tensions.
