Members of BiH Presidency receive UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs Al Nahyan

The BiH Presidency members Željko Komšić and Denis Bećirović received today the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan.

The BiH Presidency members expressed their satisfaction with the visit of Minister Al Nahyan, noting that the overall bilateral relations between BiH and the UAE are friendly and without open issues and that they represent a solid basis for further development of cooperation.

Both sides expressed expectations that in the coming period, the cooperation between the two countries would be improved in terms of economy, especially in the field of tourism, energy, infrastructure and industry.

Nahayan expressed the UAE’s interest in investments in BiH and the region, in order to strengthen economic cooperation and improve relations with friendly countries.

He expressed the readiness of the UAE to take concrete steps toward improving the overall bilateral relations between the two countries.

In this context, Minister Al Nahyan informed the members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina that in the coming period, there will be liberalization of the visa regime for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, so that they can travel to the UAE without visas.

The meeting was also a chance to discuss the regulation of contractual relations between BiH and the UAE, and the need to end the formal legal procedures for the conclusion of agreements that are in the process as soon as possible, in order to realize concrete investments and increase trade exchange.

The members of the BiH Presidency expressed their belief that the visit of Minister Al Nahyan will provide a strong impetus for strengthening the overall relations between BiH and the UAE and leading to concrete cooperation to mutual satisfaction.
