Members of the Presidency of BiH will travel to Brussels where they will meet with the President of European People’s Party (EPP) Jean-Claude Juncker and their representatives and talk about the Election Law of BiH.

Dragan Covic, Bakir Izetbegovic and Mladen Ivanic will be staying in Brussels from January 31, to February 2, and they are traveling on the invitation of Juncker and EPP.

To recall, the authorities of BiH are urged to adopt a new Election Law no later than six months before the General Elections 2018 with the Resolution on BiH that was recently adopted by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

Amendments to the Election Law are one of the crucial issues that have been pressing the political scene in BiH over the last few years, and it is also often discussed among the leaders of neighbouring and other European countries. Amendments should also be in compliance with the Constitution of BiH.

There are two proposals of amendments to the Election Law in the House of Representatives, i.e. the proposal of the HNS (HDZ BiH) and the proposal of SDA.
