The ceremonial ribbon cutting, among others, was attended by the Mayor Nedzad Koldzo, Federal Minister of Veterans and Disabled Veterans of the Defensive-Liberation War Salko Bukvarevic, Prime Minister of CS Elmedin Konakovic as well as large number of representatives of veterans’ associations.

Mayor of the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo Nedzad Koldzo said that the Center is a unique place for all veterans’ associations or institutions to realize their projects or to get engaged in scientific research.

He added that the Centre is composed of a memorial area where are exposed posters on defense of the municipality, flags and weapons, and which is dedicated to all members of the Army of BiH, martyrs, fallen soldiers and veterans units.

In the second part of the Center is placed multimedia hall, library and offices, as well as a depot for storage of archive material, stated Koldzo.

Federal Minister of Veterans and Disabled Veterans of the Defensive-Liberation War Salko Bukvarevic said that the end of March and beginning of April 1992 were the days when the aggressor army entered in many cities in the country, where they majorly committed genocide, murder and rape of innocent civilians.

He also stated that these kind of centers should be opened in other cities of BiH as well, in order to pay the tribute to the fighters who defended BiH, as well as for the younger generation who need to learn what happened during those fateful moments.
