Inter Miami soccer player, eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi has recovered from a wrist injury after a two-month absence, the coach of the American club, Gerardo Martino, announced.
“Messi is ready,” Martino said before yesterday’s training session.
Inter welcomes Philadelphia on Sunday, and Martino did not say whether Messi will start the game as a starter, enter the game as a substitute, or whether he will have a reduced playing time due to recovery from injury.
The Argentinian footballer was injured in the Copa América final on July 14, in which his country beat Colombia 1:0.
Inter is in first place in the Eastern Conference of the MLS League with 59 points won, while Messi recorded 12 goals and 14 assists in 12 games played this season.
Messi’s former Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets, Luis Suarez and Jordi Alba also play for Inter Miami.
