Milanovic: ‘The War in Ukraine is not our War’

Croatian President Zoran Milanović said that Croatian soldiers will not participate in the war in Ukraine and that they will be an opponent to anyone who does not understand this.

“The war in Ukraine is not our war. Anyone who does not understand this will have an opponent in me,” said Milanović, who is also the SDP candidate in the presidential elections.

He assessed that the world today is more unsafe than ever.

“The US and Russia are not talking. Even in times of greatest hatred, it was not like that,” Milanović said at a campaign rally in Koprivnica.

Commenting on the results of the first round of the presidential elections in which he achieved a convincing victory over the HDZ candidate, Milanović said that he had gained great trust because, he stated, the citizens are obviously fed up with the corrupt way of life.

“They want someone who will keep it under control,” Milanović said, adding that people want security and predictability.
