filmThe Ambassador of BiH to the EU Igor Davidović signed yesterday in Brussels a Memorandum on understanding between the EU and BiH on the participation of BiH in the Media Program 2007-2013. With the signing, BiH was officially integrated in the audio-visual sector of the EU and before the signing became a full member.

The BiH Deputy Minister of Civil Affairs Denisa Sarajlić Maglić, who confirmed this information, said that through the Media Program of the audiovisual sector, in BiH there will be access to funds for the development of production projects, distribution and promotion of films and audiovisual programs inside and outside the EU. Also, BiH will have access to film festivals, and the introduction and use of new technologies.

“Media enables independent producers, directors and screenwriters to work independently on new projects, and to realize projects with partners outside of BiH. This program supports the development and distribution of thousands of films a year and the overall funds that were made available for projects in the period from 2007-2013 was 755 million euros’’, said Sarajlić-Maglić.

The aim of the Media Program is to strengthen European audiovisual sector, increase the circulation of European audiovisual works inside and outside the EU and to strengthen the competitiveness of the European audiovisual industry through easier access to the financing and improving of the use of digital technology.

“The program is designed for legal entities and individuals, institutions, associations, companies, production houses, distributors, sales agents, directors, producers, screenwriters, and others who deal with audiovisual activities’’, said to Fena the Deputy Minister of Civil Affairs Sarajlić-Maglić.
