The trial of the President of the Bosnian entity of RS, Milorad Dodik, and the acting director of the Official Gazette, Miloš Lukić, for failure to implement the decisions of the High Representative, Christian Schmidt, will continue today at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Dodik underwent surgery on December 9 in Belgrade, which is why the continuation of the trial was postponed.
The continuation of the trial was postponed to December 30, after it was also postponed on December 28 after a team of doctors from the General Hospital “Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš” in Sarajevo gave an expert opinion that the first accused Dodik is currently unable to attend hearings, following the operation.
Dodik’s defense has requested that the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina restart the trial against him and Lukić due to the 30-day deadline from the last hearing, because after that deadline and without the consent of the parties to the proceedings, evidence is presented again, BHRT writes.
Milorad Dodik and Miloš Lukić, acting director of the Official Gazette of the RS, are accused of taking actions in Banja Luka from 1 to 9 July 2023, aware and knowing that the High Representative Christian Schmidt had issued a decision preventing the entry into force of the Law on Non-Application of Decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH of 1 July of the same year, as well as the decision preventing the entry into force of the Law on Amendments to the Law on Publication of Laws and Other Regulations of the RS, with the aim of continuing the legislative procedure, without applying and not implementing the decisions of the High Representative.
The trial is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
