Miners in Kakanj received their Salaries and returned to Work

The miners of the subsidiary company Dark Coal Mines Kakanj received their salary and returned to work this morning – confirmed the president of the Feni Trade Union, Abdel Fazlić.

This ended the workers’ disobedience in Kakanje that started two days ago in the second shift, but the protests continue in Zenica.

  • We got paid, and the workers are back at work. We still have some problems, but we have to work. According to my information, they stopped production in Breza this morning, and they are still in disobedience in Han Biloj near Travnik – says Fazlić.

The president of the RMU Zenica union, Nedžad Duraković, points out that they are still waiting for the payment of the April salary, and the deadline for the payment of the salary for May will soon expire, but they do not even have an approximate date when they should receive the money.

  • Obviously we were ignored. We gather every day in front of our Administration building, and 19 of us spend the night in the Miners’ Home. The others, as they finish their work, arrive and provide us with support. We will see today by 3 p.m. if anything will change or if we will be forced to take some other, more radical steps – says Duraković.
