solar plantMini solar power plant that will annually produce around 190 000 kwh of electric power was put into operation yesterday in Bijeljina.

The solar panels have been installed on the sports hall in the center of the city, and the investor Mario Stajić said to the journalists that the return on investment of half milion BAM is expected within the next 10 years.

‘Solar panels do not radiate, do not produce noise, do not harm the living environment, and in 90 percent of cases in Europe are placed on public facilities’, said Snežana Topić, the expert from the company ‘Neutron’ which was the project holder.

According to her, the operating span of solar power plants is from 25 to 30 years.

Besides from starting to use renewable energy sources, Bijeljina will benefit from this project through collecting the lease for the space for panels on the sports hall, which is owned by the city.
