Minister Konakovic Meets With The Minister Of Foreign Affairs Of The Kingdom Of Bahrain

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Elmedin Konakovic, met on January 19th as part of an official visit to Bahrain, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.

During the meeting, the ministers discussed strengthening bilateral relations and the possibilities for deepening cooperation between the two countries. Particular emphasis was placed on political dialogue and the exchange of experiences in addressing global and regional challenges.

Minister Konakovic informed his interlocutor about the foreign policy priorities of BiH, emphasizing that the European path, despite challenges, is a strategic goal of the country and that further progress in the integration process is expected. In this context, he also referred to the situation in the region, stressing that cooperation with neighbours and partners is of key importance for accelerating European integration and strengthening overall stability. He emphasized that reform processes contribute to political and economic stability, strengthening investor confidence, and creating a more favourable business environment. The Minister stressed that BiH seeks to build partnership relations with Bahrain, with the aim of strengthening political, economic, and cultural cooperation.

As part of the discussions, the ministers exchanged views on the situation in Palestine and the broader context of regional challenges, emphasizing the need for a just and lasting peace. Minister Konakovic stressed that BiH consistently supports the efforts of the international community based on relevant United Nations (UN) resolutions, emphasizing that the stability of the Middle East is of key importance for global security. He reiterated that BiH advocates political solutions that will contribute to ending violence and the suffering of civilians.

Minister Al Zayani confirmed Bahrain’s commitment to peace and stability in the region, emphasizing the importance of joint action and coordination in international forums in order to support the rights of the Palestinian people and ensure long-term stability. He expressed support for the development of relations between Bahrain and BiH, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and cooperation, especially in times of global challenges. He assessed that there is room for intensifying contacts at all levels, including the exchange of visits, in order to ensure continuous communication and advance cooperation in areas of common interest.
