Minister Sarovic invited to Moscow to negotiate the Abolition of Apple Export Ban

The ban on the export of apples from BiH to the Russian Federation has been in force for more than two months now, and the Russian authorities informed the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH that they are ready for negotiations on this abolition.

“I received an invitation for a meeting with the Russians about the abolition of ban on the export of apples. The meeting will take place in Moscow, and we are currently in the process of arranging the details and the exact date,” as stated by Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Mirko Sarovic.

To recall, the fruit producers in BiH received a ban on the export of apples to Russia after irregularities were found in the work of a company from Bijeljina that was engaged in re-export, i.e. it imported apples from Poland first and then re-exported them to Russia.

A month ago, Minister Sarovic further intensified the procedures for obtaining a certificate of origin of fruits and vegetables from our country that are exported to the Russian Federation, with which the conditions for negotiations on abolishing the ban on exports were met.

“Our country performed all preparations, all measures were conducted, and all the procedures were respected. We are in contact with the relevant services in Russia. Every day is important to us and we are hoping that Russia will abolish the ban soon,” stated Minister Sarovic.
