The first address was the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. All threats must be sanctioned in time, but also eliminated, the head of British diplomacy said. The horrors of the war in BiH are still being felt and that is why such evil must be prevented. Along the way, BiH will have the support of Great Britain, and a package of investments for the Western Balkans of 100 million dollars has been announced.
“The genocide in Srebrenica and the siege of Sarajevo are just two crimes that terrified us, and then we said – we will never, ever again allow this to happen again in Europe. However, it is clear that there are signs of Russian interference in this country, which are a threat to return to the dark days. That must stop. The United Kingdom is supporting friends who are preventing this, “said Minister Truss.
Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also the region, is at a major turning point. Either we will move towards lasting peace and stabilization within the Euro-Atlantic community, or we will allow ourselves to be drawn into dangerous games, which aim to destabilize the whole of Europe, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Bisera Turkovic.
The second address was the Presidency of BiH. The meeting was attended by the British Special Envoy for the Western Balkans Stewart Peach and the British Ambassador to our country Matthewt Field. The topics are the same, but the approach is different. We remind you that Truss was among the advocates of imposing sanctions on BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik, which the United Kingdom did in early April. Dodik after the meeting – sharply about the guest:
“The conversation between me and her was very cold. Absolutely at the level of mere need to maintain respect for the meeting. And I think that here she is trying to impose her political position, the positions of her political structure. I said that BiH is a dysfunctional and failed state, because there is great interference, including their governments. ”
BiH Presidency Member Milorad Dodik said that today’s meeting of BiH Presidency members with British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss was a mere formality for him.
Dodik’s state, in whose presidency he is, is dysfunctional, and the head of British diplomacy is not welcome.
