Monsignor Komarica: almost 95 Percent of Catholics missing from Republika Srpska

Monsignor Franjo Komarica, Bishop of Banja Luka, stated that he is looking forward the meeting between the head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis and the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Milorad Dodik.

He added that he expects that interlocutors will speak about the fact that there are almost 95 percent of Catholics missing from RS in comparison to their number before the war.

Komarica said that the situation with the Catholics in BiH is known and that it is also known what had happened to them during the war and after that period.

“Today, we have less than half of the number of Catholics from their number before the war took place at the entire territory of BiH,” said Komarica.

Komarica said that it would be good if the question would be raised about those Catholics missing in Republika Srpska and why nothing has been done politically, legally and economically to allow the return to those who wanted to return home.
