According to the latest available information from FAOSTAT (Food Supply – Livestock and Fish Primary Equivalent), one citizen of Montenegro drinks an average of 349 kilograms of milk per year.

The Finns are in first place with 430 kilograms, followed by Montenegrins with 349, and then the Dutch (349), Swedes (341), Swiss (318) and Albanians (303), reports Radio Television of Montenegro.

In the last place of this list is North Korea with only 4 kilograms of milk consumed per inhabitant on an annual basis.

According to Monstat data from 2022, a total of 172,049 liters of milk is produced annually in Montenegro.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Montenegro previously announced that, despite significant progress, intensive activities are still being implemented to improve the quality of raw milk in order to reach EU standards.
