moore johnatanThe past eight years were marked by political stalemate and stagnation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in almost all areas, although 2014 was a year of some key events said in an interview with FENA the Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH Ambassador Jonathan Moore.

He recalled the February protests, which reflected the dissatisfaction and frustration of citizens, as well as the May floods.

“After the damage caused by floods and landslides, the citizens of BiH forgot about municipal and entity borders and helped each other to recover from natural disasters, regardless of ethnic origin or place of residence,” said Moore.

Finally, he says, the October elections have shown the choice made by voters, strengthening some political parties and weakening some others.

Moore believes that now it is up to the political leaders in BiH to complete the process of forming the government and to take action in order for the country to move forward.

He recalls that when, during the first months as head of the OSCE Mission he visited many places in Bosnia and Herzegovina and talked to many people, he noted their frustration that was obvious.

“The BiH citizens expect their leaders to take concrete steps, particularly in economy and job creation,” Moore said, and added that they eagerly expect cooperation with efficient government that will fulfill the promises given in the election campaign and use the potentials of BiH.
