More Than 2.000 Cyclists Expected

biciklizam i ritamThe sixth traditional cycling event ‘Giro di Sarajevo’ will be held on 1 September, and this year the competititve team “Giro Factory Racing” was established. Tarik Imamagić, the executive director of the association ‘Giro di Sarajevo’, said at yesterday’s press conference that the starting point would be in front of the high school “Skender Kulenović” in Dobrinja.

‘’The aim is to gather as many number of cyclists in order to address the problem of a lack of adequate infrastructure for bicycles in Sarajevo. The gathering and registration of cyclists begins at 15:00, and the race begins at 17:00’’, said Branka Turkić, Spokesperson for the Association.

Last year, around 2.000 cyclists participated, and this year the organizers expect a much larger number.

During the press conference, the ‘project of the first bicycle parking in Sarajevo’ was presented. The author of the project, engineer Damir Margeta said that in the next 20 days a parking area with 20 spaces near BBI Center will be completed.
