This weekend, Mostar is hosting a large international oldtimer meeting, the 20th, organized by Oldtimer Club Mostar. The event brought together more than 200 old-timers who came to the City on the Neretva from all over Europe.
“This year, participants and guests come from ten countries, all the presidents of the oldtimer association from the region came, as well as representatives of the World Organization. This is one of the biggest gatherings in Europe,” said the president of Oldtimer Club Mostar Zdravko Vidović.
This weekend, 200 old-timers and more than a thousand people from BiH, the region and Europe arrived in Mostar.
“The meeting started on Friday with the arrival of the first guests from all over Europe, we had fun and introductions. Today we had an opening, and we are also going to Čitluk to promote the newly founded Oldtimer Club Brotnjo. After that we will return to Mostar where there will be an award ceremony. Tomorrow, the participants will be able to visit tourist attractions throughout Herzegovina,” the president of the Oldtimer Club Mostar enumerated.
The people of Mostar and Herzegovina had the opportunity to see numerous old-timers, and one of the most interesting are those from the 40s of the last century. Also, some cars are worth hundreds of thousands of euros.
One of the goals and tasks of Oldtimer Club Mostar is the promotion of positive stories, and this club is in many ways unique in Europe.
“This is a story that has gone far, a story that is also the driving force behind the development of this tourism. Our goal is to promote positive things, tourism, wine, Herzegovina. Oldtimer Club Mostar is the only one in Europe that has its own museum, and we currently have an offer to enter the list of global museums. We are a unique club, we are followed in more than 100 countries, we are a member of FIVE (Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens), an international organization of associations of national associations, clubs and other groups that takes care of the maintenance and use of vintage vehicles (of oldtimers) at the world level. All the associations are there, we are the only club with the right to vote,” emphasizes Vidović.
The Oldtimer Club Mostar was founded in 2010, and when it was founded, it attracted great interest in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region, and the world.
They are the only club in Europe that has an Oldtimer museum and within it a museum of antiques and objects from history. The museum of oldtimers has very valuable exhibits and many interesting cars, and the oldest one – the Ford T from 1929 – attracts the most attention.
