The New Year’s program in Mostar lasts three nights this year, and the visitors, who are expected to be more than 50 thousand, will be welcomed by top local and regional performers with various musical genres.

“This year as well as last year, a record number of tourists is expected, so 50 thousand people will visit Mostar, and given the concept that has been changed this year, maybe even more,” said the mayor of Mostar, Mario Kordić, at a press conference on to which the program for welcoming the New Year 2025 in the city on the Neretva was presented.

According to him, the City of Mostar, together with sponsors, invested 650 thousand marks in Advent and New Year’s Eve, and the income they expect, based on the experience of previous years, is about five million marks.

“We are talking about a very demanding event – New Year’s Eve. Three days of very attractive and interesting program, behind which lies the idea to offer everyone a diverse program, and on the other hand to contribute to tourism so that visitors to Mostar have a reason to stay longer in the city on the Neretva.” , said the mayor of Mostar.

He stated that the emphasis this year is on local performers because Mostar, as a tourist center, also has a wide music scene in the city.

“That’s why I’m happy that the ‘city paradise’ will entertain the guests, but also the citizens of Mostar. I think that this is a smart investment in tourism in the city of Mostar, because every stamp is returned tenfold, so this kind of event is also economically important for a local community like this,” he said. is Kordic.

Accommodation capacity is full

A record number of tourists from the entire region is expected again this year, and according to current data, the accommodation facilities are full.

“We wanted to offer a broader New Year’s program over three evenings and help our economy in this winter period, because if there was no Advent, the question would be how many people would visit Mostar,” said Marin Čuljak, adviser to the Mostar mayor.

He estimates that thanks to the New Year’s program in Mostar, there is talk of full capacity when it comes to hotel and catering and other related activities.

“In the past ten days, it was not possible to find accommodation, which we are proud of, and we can already say that we succeeded,” emphasized Čuljak.

He thanked all sponsors who, as he said, are equally important, and special thanks go to those who traditionally accompany them.

He also told the citizens to be patient considering the large number of guests and the small space, which the MUP of HNŽ will ensure that the New Year’s Eve, like the previous one, leaves behind good memories.

The New Year’s program starts tonight at 18:00 with a concert by Dario Šunjić and the Party Band, and then the National Orchestra and the Mostar Sevdah Reunion will delight visitors with the sounds of old town music and schlagers.

Marko Jakovljević from Mostar Sevdah Reunion thanked the organizers for their trust.

“In Mostar, we have been seeing positive leadership in all aspects of the city for a long time, especially in the area of culture. This is something that encourages us, as well as this New Year’s concept, primarily of local performers. I believe that all visitors will enjoy the program, which will be of high quality and colorful,” said Jakovljević.

On the eve of the New Year, on December 31, visitors and citizens of Mostar can expect two big concerts – “Zostera”, a cult band from Mostar, and Saša Kovačević, one of the most popular performers in the region.

The program starts at 8:00 p.m., and the visitors will be warmed up by DJ Nikić. Fireworks at midnight will further brighten up the entry into the year 2025.

Furthermore, as announced, “Prljavo kazalište” – one of the most popular ex-yu rock bands, in combination with Nen Tomičić and Antonija Batinić, and the group “Gabriel” will perform on January 1.

New Year’s magic for the youngest

For the youngest, on December 31 at 12:00 p.m., in front of the Croatian Home of Herceg Stjepan Kosača, a New Year’s magic for children called “Looking for Santa Claus” was prepared.

The little ones, as well as the older ones, will try to find Santa Claus and solve the year-long spell with the help of dance, theater and music events.

Children’s Home Mostar, Choir Mozart, Puppet Theater Mostar, Lola clowns, Santa Claus, PS Mo-Stars and PS Erigo will help in all this. There will also be children’s fireworks and face painting.

Also, on January 5, Mostar will be visited again by the Italian street entertainers Giardino delle Blu, who entertain children with an interesting program every year.

The rink is open until mid-January, Fena writes.
