More than 520 bodies have been found in mass graves in hospitals in Gaza

More than 520 bodies have been found in seven mass graves in hospitals in Gaza, the Ministry of Health in the Palestinian enclave said on Saturday.

“We found 80 bodies in three mass graves in the courtyards of the Al-Shifa medical complex and dozens more in hospital wards,” the ministry said in a statement.

Examination of bodies exhumed from mass graves showed that the largest number of bodies belonged to patients who were deprived of health care, it added.

Israel launched the war in the Gaza Strip after a Hamas attack on October 7 that killed nearly 1,200 people.

Since then, Israeli attacks have killed almost 35,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and caused a humanitarian disaster.

More than seven months after the start of Israel’s war, vast parts of Gaza lie in ruins, while 85 percent of the enclave’s population is internally displaced.

Israel is accused of genocide before the International Court of Justice. An interim ruling in January ordered Tel Aviv to stop the genocidal acts and take measures to ensure humanitarian aid is provided to civilians in Gaza, AA writes.
