In the municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo, at the Alipašin Most site, mortal remains were found during construction works, namely, a number of bones- mortal remains for which the forensic pathologist confirmed that they resemble the remains of human origin.

The works have been suspended, and the exhumation process has been initiated, which is being coordinated by an Investigator from the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in accordance with a Prosecutor’s order. A forensic pathologist and representatives of the Missing Persons’ Institute (MPI) of Bosnia and Herzegovina are present in the field, together with the necessary workers and mechanization, as well as police officers of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of the Interior, who are securing the location.

According to the preliminary excavations, these are the mortal remains of at least three bodies.

After the exhumation, the remains will be forwarded for further forensic processing and identification through the DNA analysis.

Employees of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina participate in the processes of exhumations, as well as in the search for missing persons in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
