Moscow condemns US and British sanctions against BiH Officials

Moscow condemns US and British sanctions against BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik and other officials, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharov said, noting that the West was trying to eliminate all dissidents and those who disagreed with Western neo-colonial policy.

“We strongly condemn the unilateral personnel restrictions imposed on Dodik and numerous officials,” it is stated in the statement of Zaharova, published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Illegal sanctions

She assessed that such a practice of illegal sanctions can at least ensure the realization of the positive agenda, strengthens trust, interethnic harmony, peace and stability in BiH and the region as a whole.

Zakharova pointed out that the West is trying to reform the Balkans according to its own standards.

“It is obvious that the West, pursuing such a malicious and destructive policy, strives for only one thing, and that is to reshape the Balkans according to its own patterns, harming the national interests of the region, to eliminate all dissidents and those who disagree with the West. neo-colonial policy,” said Zaharova.

According to her, Moscow is convinced that the Balkans is a territory of equal cooperation, and not of confrontation and settling accounts.

Selfish approaches

“In this regard, Russia appeals to all external participants to give up selfish approaches and return to constructive cooperation,” said Zaharova.

The United Kingdom said on Monday (April 11th) that it had imposed sanctions on BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik and RS President Zeljka Cvijanovic for “trying to undermine the legitimacy and functionality of Bosnia and Herzegovina”.

Earlier, the Office for Control of Foreign Funds at the American Ministry of Finance imposed sanctions on Dodik and Banja Luka’s Alternative Television due to activities and threats to the stability and territorial integrity of BiH, Srna reports.
