The International Economic Fair Mostar 2023 opens its doors to visitors on Tuesday, May 2nd, and the organizers expect exhibitors from 30 countries, among which will be some of the strongest companies from Israel, this year’s partner country.

Counselor at the Embassy of the State of Israel in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Ernest Green, said that they are proud to hold the title of the official partner country of the Mostar fair.

”Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1997, foreign trade exchange between Israel and BiH has been constantly increasing. Exports from BiH to Israel increased from one million US dollars during the 1990s to over 20 million US dollars in 2021. Israel’s exports to BiH, which practically did not exist in the 1990s, amounted to about seven and a half million US dollars in 2021,” said Green at the press conference.

The President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Federation of BiH (FBiH), Marko Santic, also expressed his satisfaction that Israel is a partner country and said he believes that after the fair the relations between Israel and BiH will be even better.

”I can only state that the exchange of goods between our two countries is not at a satisfactory level and that we can do much better. I hope that after this fair we will have a platform and predispositions to make a quality cooperation. We have been in intensive contact with the Chamber of Commerce in BiH for two months now, and we will sign a framework agreement on cooperation, which we believe will be the base and platform for further cooperation between our economy and the economy of Israel,” stated Santic.
