Multinational EUFOR Forces Continue Exercise Quick Response 2026 Across BiH

EUFOR troops continued live exercise activity across Bosnia and Herzegovina today as part of Exercise Quick Response 2026, conducting coordinated training in Mostar and Rudo and testing their ability to deploy rapidly and respond to complex scenarios in cooperation with local authorities.

At Mostar Airport, Austrian engineer and military police elements and a Greek Explosive Ordnance Disposal team arrived aboard a Hungarian H225M helicopter, linking up with Greek and Austrian troops already on the ground. The multinational elements conducted training focused on securing and supporting operations around key infrastructure, testing the ability of specialised EUFOR capabilities to rapidly deploy, integrate and coordinate their actions within a complex operational environment.

In Rudo, a multinational platoon comprising Greek, Italian, Albanian and North Macedonian troops deployed to the area and conducted a long-range patrol from the landing zone to the exercise objective. The troops rehearsed procedures for securing ammunition and weapons storage sites as part of the wider Exercise Quick Response 2026 scenario.

The activities demonstrated the different capabilities available to EUFOR, from specialist engineer, military police and explosive ordnance disposal teams to multinational ground forces capable of deploying and operating together across demanding terrain. Conducting concurrent activities in different parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina places significant demands on command, coordination and logistics. It is precisely this complexity that Exercise Quick Response 2026 is designed to test.

Exercise Quick Response 2026 brings together EUFOR’s in-theatre forces and reserve elements from contributing nations, demonstrating the readiness, credibility and capacity of the force to respond whenever and wherever required.

Through regular multinational training, EUFOR maintains the capabilities necessary to fulfil its mandate and support the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina in maintaining a safe and secure environment.
