In mosques all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, the faithful prayed the Eid prayer, with which Muslims, after the month of fasting, welcomed Eid.
Sarajevo: Peace, justice and stability must be essential values
The central Eid ceremony of the Rijaset of the Islamic Community was held in the Gazi Husrev Bey Mosque in Sarajevo. The Eid sermon was delivered by reisul-ulema Husein ef. Kavazovic.
“Our obligation is not to wait for an opportunity for things to improve by themselves. Our obligation is to work for that opportunity to arise. Nothing will come by itself. I am happy that our common man thinks for himself and looks at his own interest. And his interest is peace, order and order… Peace, justice and stability must be essential values behind which we will all stand as one. Everything else is less important if we destroy these foundations,” said Reisu-l-ulema Kavazović.
Srebrenica: Sharing the joy of Eid regardless of religious or national affiliation
For the area of the Majlis of the Islamic Community of Srebrenica, the central Eid celebration on the occasion of Ramadan Eid was held in the White Mosque in Srebrenica, which was too small to accommodate all the believers.
In addition to the White Mosque, Eid prayers were offered in Sućeska, Gornji Potočari, Podgaj, Slapovići, Osat, Dobrak, Luka, Osmači…
“Today we are joyful and grateful after the month of fasting. Today we enjoy the fruits. Eid is not a joy only for us but for everyone around us. Today is a day when we must not forget anyone, we must extend a hand to everyone and share the joy of Eid regardless of religious or national affiliation. Today, we must not forget our mothers and fathers who were left alone, who were left without children in the genocide,” said Damir ef. Pestalić, chief imam of the Majlis from Srebrenica, who sent a traditional Eid greeting.
Tuzla: BiH is our common house, spacious for all its sons and daughters
In the “King Abdullah” Mosque in Tuzla, the Eid prayer was performed this morning, which marked the beginning of the Eid al-Fitr. The Eid prayer was offered at 7:11 a.m., and the Eid sermon was delivered by the Mufti of Tuzlan, Vahid ef. Fazlović.
“We have repeated many times that this our homeland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is our common home, spacious for all its sons and daughters. Let us not allow those who light fires these days to fan them and turn them into a flame of hatred, in which we will all suffer… May our holidays be a time of meeting and shared joy: in our villages, neighborhoods and cities. May this Eid be like that too! Let us show each other how much we care about our good neighbors and our neighborhood. In these blessed days of our great joy, let us not forget those who are in trouble, in difficulties, and to whom our benevolence and help can be a great relief and comfort,” said Vahid ef. Fazlović, Mufti of Tuzla.
Banja Luka: We strive for a just and moral life
The Eid prayer was also performed in the Ferhadija Mosque in Banja Luka. Mufti Ismail Efendi Smajlović of Banja Luka sent Eid greetings to believers around the world.
“We hope that the messages of Eid will be in the context of all that God can bestow on humanity, that violence in the world will decrease, and that we strive for a just and moral life,” said Efendi Smajlović.
Zenica: Sincerity is the most important content of good deeds
In Zenica, the central ceremony on the occasion of Ramadan Eid was held this morning at the Sultan Ahmed Mosque. The Eid prayer and Eid sermon in front of thousands of believers were led by Mufti Mevludin Efendi Dizdarević of Zenica, who in his address to the believers present congratulated the Eid with a message of unity and peace, emphasizing the importance of sincerity among people.
“Sincerity is the most important content of our good deeds, the most important content of human relationships, where there is no sincerity in human relations, there are no relationships either. There is a scattering there, there is a seed, there is a distortion of all human relationships and relationships. That is why the time is the way it is. It seems to me that we are living a crisis of our human relationships, relationships, and among other things, we have a lack of sincerity,” said Effendi Dizdarević.
Mostar: Ramadan taught us to rise above individualism and egoism
Eid prayer in the area of the Mufti of Mostar, in all 14 majlis, was offered this morning in 161 mosques and mosques. The central Eid ceremony was held in the oldest mosque in Mostar – the Sinan Pasha (Atik) mosque on Mejdan, and the Eid prayer was led and the Eid sermon was delivered by the Mufti of Mostar, Salem ef. Dedovic.
“Ramadan taught us to rise above individualism and egoism, omnipresent phenomena in today’s world, and to take empathy and solidarity as virtues and blessings…” said Ef. Dedovic.
He referred to the increasingly frequent violent incidents in the city that threaten peace and security, especially of young people because, as he said, they are, unfortunately, actors in those events. He assessed that they are most often motivated by hatred of debt and others.
“Young people like clay pigeons in the hands of interest groups, unaware of the danger to which they expose themselves, serve only as a tool in the realization of someone’s sick aspirations to threaten peace and for this historically, culturally and touristically important world destination to emerge as an unsafe place,” he pointed out, and called on the authorities not to approach this issue so lightly and superficially, without delving into the deeper reasons for such increasingly frequent deviations.
