NARS On January 18th On The Resignation Of Prime Minister

A special session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (NARS) on the adoption of the resignation of the Prime Minister of RS, Savo Minic, will be held tomorrow, January 18th, the NARS Collegium decided at a telephone session.

According to media reports, the session is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.

After the conclusion of the special session, a Collegium meeting will also be held regarding the convening of a new session on the election of a new RS government.

Savo Minic, just one day after submitting his resignation from the position of Prime Minister of RS, held consultations in Banja Luka with social partners and ruling political parties on the election of a new government. The opposition did not respond to the consultations.

Minic said that today at 5:00 p.m., he will announce the names of the new ministers at a press conference.

“I am very satisfied, and I would like to thank all social partners for their support and understanding of the political moment and such decisions. I am grateful to the representatives of all parties that make up the government in RS, from whom I received maximum support,” Minic said.

He announced that all deputies from the parties of the ruling coalition in the RS will attend the session of the NARS tomorrow.

It should be recalled that two days ago, Savo Minic returned the mandate of Prime Minister of the RS, and the acting President of the RS, Ana Trisic-Babic, immediately offered him a new mandate to form the government.

All this is happening ahead of the plenary session of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) scheduled for January 22nd, at which a decision is to be made on the constitutionality of the RS Government, appointed after Milorad Dodik was stripped of the mandate of entity president.

The NARS elected a new RS Government on September 2nd, 2025, headed by Savo Minic.
