National Assembly of Republika Srpska defines Referendum Question

The National Assembly of the Republika Srpska discussed on Friday evening the call for a referendum with the question: “Do you accept the decisions of the unelected foreigner Christian Schmidt and the unconstitutional judgment of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina against the President of the RS, as well as the decision of the Central Election Commission to revoke the mandate of the President of the RS, Milorad Dodik?”

Amendments to the Law on Referendum and Citizens’ Initiative were previously discussed, which envisage the possibility for the parliament to appoint a special commission to conduct a referendum.

A series of conclusions were also proposed at the proposal of the ruling coalition, rejecting the judgment of the Court of BiH and the possibility of calling early elections, and supporting Milorad Dodik’s intention to perform his duties in full capacity.

Upon returning to the assembly hall, Dodik addressed the heads of the PDP parliamentary caucuses, Igor Crnatak, and the List for Justice and Order, Nebojša Vukanović, with insults and serious accusations.

Former RS President Milorad Dodik stated today during a special session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (NARS) “that he will immediately step down from the position of president if the NARS adopts the formation of a republican electoral commission”, and if it calls elections for the president of the RS and the opposition accepts this.

“If you adopt this, I will leave immediately, I will not be a candidate for president of the RS and I will not run for the next ten years,” said Dodik, who was allowed to address the NARS by the President of the NARS Nenad Stevandić.

We remind you that the CEC BiH stripped Dodik of his mandate as president of the RS after the final verdict of the Court of BiH.

“Here, I will not participate as president of the SNSD party either. And you will not win again. So, when the SDS and PDP accept this, and in seven days we can get such a law, I will leave politics, Dodik added and stated that he is proposing that the president of the republican electoral commission be from the opposition.

He said in the assembly hall that the false bomb threat report in the RSNA building was sent this morning by Mirko Miljatović from Novi Grad, whom he said was an activist of the Justice and Order List.

However, the president of the Justice and Order List, Nebojša Vukanović, reacted and said that Mijatović has not been in contact with the List since May, because then the commissioner for Novi Grad, Aleksandar Janković, was elected.

– Let everyone answer for what they did – said Vukanović.

The head of the SNSD MPs’ Club in the RSNA, Srđan Mazalica, stated that the SNSD believes “that Milorad Dodik is still the president of the RS, and that the possibility of holding early presidential elections should be rejected”.

Explaining at a special session of the RS National Assembly the information related to the verdict of the Court of BiH and the decision of the Central Election Commission, and the position of the RS National Assembly on the future activities of the RS institutions, Mazalica stated that today the deputies should declare whether they “accept the colonial administration, the verdict of the unconstitutional Court of BiH against the President of the RS and the decision of the Central Election Commission of BiH to revoke his mandate, which violates the Constitution of the RS”.

Mazalica believes that not only “a coup d’état has been carried out, but that an attack has been made on the civilizational foundations on which modern and democratic societies rest”.
