On March 21, 2024, the Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zukan Helez, received the Commander of the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo, Brigadier General Pamela McGaha, with her associates.

The topic of the meeting was the implementation of the document “Defense Review and Modernization Plan in 2024”.

Minister Helez welcomed Commander McGaha, saying that today is an important day for our country.

“We are expecting the publication of news about the approval of the start of negotiations for the accession of BiH to the European Union. It is a big step forward for the country and recognition for the efforts we have made. I also want to thank you because you always support our Euro-Atlantic path”, said Helez.

The minister informed the commander that lately the activities of implementing the Defense Review, including the Development and Modernization Plan of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, have been intensified.

General McGaha expressed her satisfaction that the meetings with the management of the BiH MoD became continuous.

“It is important that we discuss and work on the decentralization of public procurement so that members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina receive their services in full. Today we are here to touch upon the reserve forces of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and to discuss their composition and structure”, explained Commander McGaha.

At the end of the meeting, the general noted that the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo is celebrating 75 years since the formation of the NATO alliance and 20 years of cooperation between this alliance and our country on April 2 this year. On this occasion, the general thanked the minister for the contribution made by the BiH MoD in preparation for the celebration of this ceremony.
