Nermin Memic, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s top swimmer won the silver medal at the First International Swimming Festival for the Disabled Persons held on Saturday in Zagreb. Memic also achieved the A standard for the next European Paralympic Championship and the success of the BiH team in the Croatian capital by winning silver medals in the junior competition was complemented by Ismail Zulfic and Ismail Barlov and Ajdin Karisik.

“Our main goal in this extremely strong competition has been achieved. Nermin Memic broke the A norm in the 100m dolphin discipline in the S8 class for next year’s European Championships in Portugal. This will be Nermin’s second career appearance at the European Show and we are all very proud.

This result is the crown of our club’s very successful work in the year ahead. This is the success of all of us at Swimming Club SPID, parents, swimmers and coaches,” said Amel Kapo, selector of the BiH Paragliding Team and head coach of SC SPID.

The competition in Zagreb, organized by the Dubrava Swimming Club, featured 116 swimmers from Austria, Greece, Slovenia, Montenegro, Turkey, Serbia, Croatia and BiH.
