Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Lebanon’s capital Beirut would be turned into Gaza if Lebanon’s Hezbollah group escalated its attacks into “all-out war” against his country.
Since the outbreak of the war in the Gaza Strip, there has been a constant exchange of fire across the border between the Israeli army and Hezbollah fighters who are allies of Hamas.
The group’s powerful leader has previously issued a series of threats to Tel Aviv but has not announced an all-out war.
If that were to happen, Hezbollah “will, with their own hands, turn Beirut and southern Lebanon, which are not far from here, into Gaza and Khan Yunis,” Netanyahu said.
“We are determined to bring victory,” the Israeli prime minister said during a meeting with reservists at a base in northern Israel.
Namely, Netanyahu had a phone conversation with the United States (U.S.) President Joe Biden yesterday, the White House announced. The details of the conversation have not been published so far, Klix.ba reports.
