Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel chose the targets it attacked in Iran based on “its national interests” and not on what was dictated by the United States.

Netanyahu’s office issued the statement in response to what it said was a “totally false” local television report that Israel had avoided striking Iranian gas and oil facilities due to US pressure.

“Israel pre-selected the targets of the attack in accordance with its national interests, not according to American dictates. That’s how it was and that’s how it will be,” the statement said.

Israeli media reported that only Iranian military targets were targeted in the airstrike.
