On Tuesday, December 17, 2019, the Minister of Defense of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Marina Pendes, hosted new young officers, who were inducted into the service in the Armed Forces of BiH in 2019, in the initial officer rank of lieutenant. This year, 27 young officers were admitted to Armed Forces of BiH (AFBiH), including five women.

Most of them have already been deployed to the AF BiH units, and some continue their specialist training and further education.

Following the invitation, five doctors were admitted, eight attended military academies in Turkey, four in Northern Macedonia, three each in the United Kingdom, Croatia and Serbia, and one military academy in Greece. Minister Marina Pendes and Assistant Minister of Defense for Personnel Management Sead Muratovic and their associates wished them a successful start to their officers’ careers and heard the first impressions of each of them.

“Never forget that you are officers in the full sense of the word. This implies that you first and foremost do your duty honorably. Always take care of your integrity. You respect your commander, but keep in mind that your career will depend on how much your soldiers respect you. And do not forget to work for the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, first and foremost, for the benefit of all its citizens, ”Minister Pendesh said in an address to the young lieutenants of the AFBiH.
