A view on the Neretva River canyon, kayak access and rock climbing – Via Ferrata Prenjska Vrata near Jablanica is singled out as one of the most unique outdoor attractions in the country.

Via Ferrata Prenjska Vrata was built as part of the “Stairway to Green Heaven” project, implemented by the Extreme Sports Club “4 Sezone” from Jablanica with the support of the Sports-Climbing Club “Puls.” The project was carried out within theVia Dinarica III initiative, in partnership with SPK Blagaj and the Women’s Association “Most” Jablanica.

Located near Jablanica, above Lake Grabovica at the foot of Mt.Prenj, this via ferrata offers spectacular view of the Neretva River canyon and a unique outdoor experience in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

What makes it special is the fact that the rock is reached exclusively by kayak, making this adventure one of the few of its kind in the region. The ferrata is 250 meters long and rated Grade D (difficult). While it is primarily intended experienced climbers, it is also accessible to adrenaline-seeking beginners with expert guidance.

Technical information:

• Length: 250 m

• Difficulty: Grade D (difficult)

• Climbing time: 1-1.5 hours

• Total tour duration: Over 3 hours (kayak, ferrata, and return)

• Access: By kayak (approx. 20-25 minutes of paddling)

• Return: Hiking trail (approx. 4.7 km)

As part of the project, five kilometers of hiking trails were cleared, 20 tree saplings were planted in difficult-to-access areas, and seasonal employment was provided for tour guiding and equipment rentals.

For more information, equipment, and tour bookings, interested parties can contact the Sport-Climbing Club “Puls” via their social media channels, N1 writes.
