The Minister of Internal Affairs (MoI) of Sarajevo Canton, Admir Katica, announced that the new central building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the CS in Kolodvorska Street should be completed by 2030.

Katica stated that the construction of a building with 17 floors and four underground floors, with a total area of more than 18,000 square meters, is planned.

“Security in Sarajevo Canton will be managed from this facility because it will have the most modern Operations Center,” said Katica.

He reminded that until recently there was an unfinished building at that location which, as he assessed, had been spoiling the appearance of that part of the city for decades. According to him, the property and legal relations were resolved, the existing building was removed, and the conceptual design of the new building and urban planning permit were secured.

Currently, the development of the main project is underway, the completion of which is expected in a few months, after which the selection of the contractor is planned. Katica announced that the foundation stone of the new building should be laid next year, and the construction will take place in stages, in accordance with the available financial resources.

“Our goal is to move the police and administration into the new building in 2030,” said Katica, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton announced.
