One of the new regulations that was previously only treated in general is the transport of a person who is under the influence of alcohol or other psychoactive substances.
The wearing of helmets is not mandatory for cyclists, but the Law on basics of traffic safety on the roads in BiH forbids transport of a child under 8 years buttoned helmets and special seats adapted to the age of the child.
“Now all cyclists can decide whether they will wear a helmet or not. This item had a negative effect on the popularization of the use of bicycles as a means of transport and did not influence the reduction of traffic accidents. When it comes to special seats, we believe that for rural areas, but also for citizens of the poorer financial situation it is still abstract noun to allocate up to one hundred BAM for this addition and the police should have it in mind,” said Dakic.
Another obstacle which, according to the Centre for Environment, is located between the person and the bike is the use of the reflective vest, which is ensuring adequate visibility for the period from dusk to dawn, and in the case of reduced visibility during the day.
From the Association of Giro di Sarajevo noted that electric bicycles now count as bicycles if their power rating is not more than 0.25 kilowatts and if speed does not exceed 25 km / h, which is the limit for bicycle routes.
