The representative of FIPA in Japan, Shigehiko Nishihama, visited the Agency with the aim to inform the management about the activities that he implements with the goal of promotion of BiH as a great investment and tourist destination for investors and tourists from Japan, activities regarding exports of wines from BiH to Japan, and maintaining contacts with Japanese businessmen who visited BiH for the first time last year.

At the recent Japanese fair of tourism “Tourism EXPO” that was held in Tokyo from September 21 to 24, 2017, Nishihama presented BiH as a tourist destination, and he held a large number of presentations in front of a large number of visitors and tourist representatives from Japan.

Tourist agencies from Japan are interested in enriching tourist offers for their clients with visits to Trebinje, Visegrad, Jajce, and Jablanica, besides Sarajevo and Mostar. As Nishihama confirmed, a total of 6,000 tourists from Japan visit BiH every year, of which 5,000 are coming in a visit organized by travel agencies, while 1,000 tourists come individually.

Within the visit to BiH, accompanied by representatives of FIPA, Nishihama will visit investment projects in Bosanski Brod and Prijedor, as well as new investment locations, considering the interest of Japanese investors in this part of our country. He will also visit Visegrad, Jablanica, and Jajce for the preparation of promotional activities.

We should recall that the export of BH wines in Japan started due to the efforts and work of Nishihama, and it represents a significant progress in the export of BH products in a very demanding market of Japan.

Upon his return to Japan, he will visit Japanese companies that visited BiH in 2016 to discuss different investment opportunities, and with the aim to get to know their plans related to investing in BiH.
