New Royal Family Scandal: Prince Harry refuses to stay at Buckingham Palace

Prince Harry has reportedly declined an invitation to stay at Buckingham Palace during his upcoming trip to London.

The Duke of Sussex is traveling alone for his legal case against News Group Newspapers, opting for alternative accommodations instead of the royal residence.

During this visit, Harry will receive limited police protection, a step down from the full taxpayer-funded security he lost in 2023.

Mark Rowley, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, has ensured that armed officers from the Royalty and Specialist Protection Command will provide security for the prince. However, this arrangement has posed challenges for the police force, which is short-staffed.

“He offers Harry limited police protection. The commissioner is trying to recruit officers on their days off because they don’t have much backup personnel,” one source said.

This decision reflects Harry’s earlier trips to the United Kingdom (UK), where he similarly declined royal offers. During a three-day visit to London in May 2024, he chose to stay at a hotel rather than on royal property.
