The Ponijeri ski center near Kakanj will be open to skiers tonight – confirmed in a statement to Fena news agsncy the director of the Cultural and Sports Center Kakanj Dženan Ajdinović.

Favorable weather conditions and sufficient amounts of snow have allowed the ski season to start unusually early for the only ski resort in the Zenica-Doboj Canton.

“The ski season officially starts on December 15, but about 40 centimeters of snow fell, so we decided to arrange the slope and enable night skiing. We will see what the weather will be like tomorrow, whether the snow will last, but we hope that our visitors will have the opportunity to ski and enjoy the snow on National Day,” said Ajdinović.

A daily ticket for the ski resort, which received a new ski lift last year, is 20, while a half-day ticket and a night skiing ticket that starts at 6 p.m. are 15 BAM.

In preparation for the new ski season, with the support of the Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, paved roads from the direction of Kakanj have been arranged.
