Foundation Nippon from Japan, in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan in BiH, has provided a donation of books about the country for six educational institutions and organizations in BIH.
The donation is being realized as part of the project “100 books for understanding contemporary Japan”.
Every institutions received 100 books selected by a commission composed of Japanese and international experts from various areas.
The books include five categories: political and international relations, business and economy, culture and society, art and art history.
Institutions and organizations in BiH that have successfully applied to the project will receive the donations-University in Banja Luka, Zenica, National and University Library of the RS, National and University Library “Derviš Sušić” Tuzla, Association BIH-Japanese Friendship (BHJFA) and the Sarajevo Association for Japanese Studies.
Foundation Nippon is a private institution from Japan whose main goal is to contribute to social changes.
For this purpose, the institution, through various projects, assistance programs and stipends and intellectual exchange lends support in various areas that include society, education, youth, medicine and security.
“100 books for understanding contemporary Japan” is a part of “Read Japan”, a program by which Foundation Nippon donates books annually on contemporary Japan to libraries abroad.
The Embassy of Japan hopes that this project will bring Japanese culture to BiH citizens and contribute to strengthening friendship ties between the two countries.
