The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in North Macedonia confirmed to Fena news agency that there were no deaths or injuries of BiH citizens in the tragedy in Kočani, in which 59 people lost their lives.
“I am in contact with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia, there were no deaths or injuries of Bosnia and Herzegovina citizens in the terrifying tragedy that occurred in Kočani,” said Dragan Jaćimović, Ambassador of BiH to North Macedonia.
As he said, the latest news is that the autopsy of the deceased has begun.
“As you know, the number of deaths is still 59, 20 are critical, over 150 are injured, and 40 have been transferred abroad for treatment. We hope that the number of deaths will not increase. Macedonia is all in the black. Sadness, grief, both in Kočani and in Skopje, in the entire region,” said Jaćimović.
The ambassador said that Bosnia and Herzegovina made itself available for any kind of assistance.
“I heard from the minister, if help is needed from Bosnia and Herzegovina, we are here and that is what we can do. So far, none of the injured have been transferred to BiH, if necessary, it will not be disputed at all,” Ambassador Jaćimović concluded.
Let us remind you that on the night from Saturday to Sunday, during a concert in the discotheque “Pulse” in Kočani, North Macedonia, a terrible fire broke out that killed at least 59 people, while more than 150 people were injured.
Most of the dead were young people, between the ages of 14 and 25, including three minors.
According to the first information of the Macedonian MUP, there were about 500 people in the club at the time of the fire. The Ministry of the Interior, in cooperation with the State Prosecutor’s Office, suspected more than 20 people, 15 of whom are in police custody. Some of the suspects died, while others were hospitalized.
