North Macedonian Chief of Defence visited EUFOR in BiH

On Friday morning, COMEUFOR Major General Alexander Platzer welcomed the North Macedonian Chief of Defence Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski to Camp Butmir. Upon his arrival, Lieutenant General Gjurchinovski received an honour guard before having a meeting with COMEUFOR.

North Macedonian are a troop-contributing nation to Operation Althea and have been for a long period of time. After their meeting Lieutenant General Gjurchinovski visited the memorial garden in Camp Butmir, where there is a memorial to the North Macedonian military personnel deployed to EUFOR in BiH who tragically lost their lives in a helicopter accident in 2008.
